Flipping the learning experience..


Okay, so I’m away in London working with two Schools, it’s a great experience and I am picking up some amazing new ideas to not only improve my own classroom practice but that of Collegaues as well. I am conscious however, that I’m away from my students and I dont want them to miss out with me not being there, so I have been looking at strategies to ensure this disruption is minimised.

I have adopted the ‘flipped classroom’ model and have been engaging in active, real time dialogue with feedback to support students learning. I suggested a range of questions which included:  If you could do any job for a million pounds a year what would it be and why? If you could meet any famous person in the world dead or alive who would it be and why? What book have you read recently, what was good about it? What were you favourite parts?

I then asked students to blog their responses to any number of these topics. The response was fantastic, I was inundated with updates from them today, and luckily had a break in my schedule to respond to them. Here are some of their blogs and responses:
